Why does my glucometer say "Lo" after taking a reading?

The "Lo" symbol means that your blood glucose level is lower than 20 mg/dl (1.1 mmol/L). Try retesting using a new strip. If you get the same "Lo" message after retesting, the reading may be accurate and you should then seek emergency medical services immediately, as this is a very dangerous range.
